Bulletin Announcements – August 1st, 2010

  1. CONGREGATIONAL MEETING / CONSTITUTION CHANGE – today: A meeting has been called to discussion the vision and direction of the church, Jim Crawford’s pastor training, provide a property update, the need for and vote on the purchase of a modular building, and discussion and vote on a Constitutional change in Elder and Deacon terms from three years to two years as shown on the posting on the Church Council bulletin board. General discussions are open to all; only members may discuss and vote on modular, licensing, and term changes.
    1. Members –After the service, please sign in at the entry table and receive your vote card.
  2. MEN’S BACKPACKING- final meeting today: Men’s Backpacking Meeting after the congregational meeting today to review final details for hike this week, 5th – 8th.
  3. BENEVOLENT FUND: A donation tray is available on the entry table.
  4. POTLUCK: Tonight is our monthly potluck at 6 pm. The theme is Hamburgers and Hot dogs. Bring your favorite main dish, salad, bread or dessert.
  5. SIGN UPS: Please sign up on the forms on the sanctuary entry table.
    1. BAPTISM: If you are interested in being baptized you have two opportunities:August 21 at the lake or September 12 at the Bertholet’s pool. Class dates have changed:  children’s class for 6th grade and younger is August 8, and August 15 is for adults. Please sign up and/or confirm the class you wish to attend.
    2. BABY DEDICATION: If interested please sign up. The date is TBD.
    3. MEMBERSHIP: If you are interested in learning more about Westside Church or membership, please sign up. Class is Sept. 10, 6-9 pm with a potluck dinner.
    4. FINANCE CLASS: This Ramsey Finance Class is open for everyone.  Please see the insert for more the preview and class times.  The course fee is $93 per family, if interested please sign up on the form on the entry table.
    5. LADIES’ NIGHT OUT: If you, or you and a friend, would like to host one of these monthly events, please sign up on the form on the entry table.
  6. PASTOR’S POTLUCK DESSERT NIGHT: This Friday, August 5, 6:30pm.  Open to all.  A sign up sheet is on the entry table.
  7. AWANA: Help is needed for the 2010-11 year, please see the insert.
  8. BABY BOTTLE BANK FUNDRAISER: If you were participating in the baby bottle fundraiser, please returned the baby bottles to the church office.
  9. GATEHOUSE THANK-YOU: The Directors of Gatehouse wish to thank the men at Westside who helped roof the porch at Gatehouse.
  10. WOMEN’S EVENT – save the date: Sheila Walsh, the inspiring speaker and recording artist with Women of Faith, is coming to Redding on February 5 at Redding Christian Fellowship; $30 tickets go on sale in September.  If you are interested in helping on one of the committees of Shasta County Women’s Ministry, the producers of this amazing event, please see Jane Barnes 244-1036.
